I finally got around to making my own cat plush pattern in which it took three attempts to get everything to match proportion wise. This plushie is small enough to fit within the palm of my hand.

The pattern to make this plush can be found here. Tutorial can be found at: [link]

I am willing/able to be commissioned to make something along the same lines. Of course, no two plushies will ever be exactly the same, whether because of different materials for the plushie, or different ways to make the face (I don't have that many black plastic noses in that shape). Send me a note for details.

Never heard of 'spotlight'.... I bought the nose from either Beverly's or JoAnne's.

I have a question: I am making this plush out of your very wonderful pattern and instructions, and I can't figure out the head. Can you give me any advice that might clear things up for me? Thanks!

I can try, but I don't know if it'll clear things up or make things more confusing...

There's a total of eight pieces connected with the head. Half of those pieces are ears. I recommend doing those first as they'll need to be sewn in between the front and back parts of the head.

Start by placing the cut out pieces for the ears, 'right side' facing each other. Sew the outer rounded pieces together, leaving the bottom more inner rounded parts unsewn (pictures of what I'm talking about are on my site listed in the description). Turn the pieces right side out.

There should be two back of head pieces and two front of head pieces, both mirrored of each other. Sew the back of head pieces on the side with two darts (the extended/sticking out V like shapes) along the curve (not along the V darts though, just on a regular curve). For the two front of head pieces, you'll be sewing along the forehead/nose/muzzle area.

Once those pieces are done, you'll wind up with a pair of ears, the front of the head and the back of the head. One at a time, fold a little bit of the shorter end of one of the ears, and place the ear facing inwards and the folded side facing the front of the head). Pin it in place between the front and back sides of the head if it'll help. Repeat the process with the other ear. Sew around the head, leaving a small gap at the bottom of the head.

Turn the head right side out, stuff and use the hidden stitch (some call it the ladder stitch) to finish the head. If the body's already done, then proceed to use the hidden stitch to add the head to the body.
